Lower Silesian Hydrogen Valley Association, Sigma Project and H2X Global Join Forces to Accelerate Deployment of Hydrogen-Powered Municipal Vehicles in Europe.
24 June 2026
The Lower Silesian Hydrogen Valley Association (LSHVA), Sigma Project and H2X Global Limited (H2X) are pleased to announce the execution of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the development, funding, integration and deployment of zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell waste collection vehicles across Poland, Central Europe and the Nordic region.
The collaboration brings together three complementary organisations with the shared objective of accelerating the commercial adoption of hydrogen-powered municipal transport solutions:
-
Sigma Project – specialist designer and manufacturer of municipal waste collection bodies, compactors and refuse vehicle equipment;
-
H2X Global – developer of hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle platforms, hydrogen storage systems and associated technologies for commercial vehicles; and
-
Lower Silesian Hydrogen Valley Association – a leading hydrogen ecosystem organisation supporting project development, government engagement and funding initiatives throughout Poland and Central Europe.
The parties intend to collaborate on the deployment of 24–26 tonne hydrogen-powered refuse collection vehicles, combining H2X hydrogen technology platform with Sigma’s proven municipal waste collection systems, while leveraging LSHVA’s regional ecosystem, stakeholder network and project development capabilities.
The collaboration will also focus on:
-
Identifying government grants and funding opportunities;
-
Developing demonstration and pilot projects;
-
Participating in public procurement opportunities;
-
Supporting municipal fleet decarbonisation initiatives; and
-
Accelerating the commercial deployment of hydrogen-powered waste collection vehicles across Central and Northern Europe.
A Practical Partnership for Commercial Deployment
The hydrogen industry is increasingly moving beyond demonstration projects towards commercial implementation.
This collaboration has been established to bring together specialist organisations, each contributing proven expertise within their respective disciplines, to deliver integrated zero-emission municipal vehicle solutions for fleet operators and local governments.
The parties believe this collaborative model will accelerate deployment while reducing project complexity for customers seeking to transition from diesel-powered municipal fleets.
Lower Silesian Hydrogen Valley Association Quote: “The development of the hydrogen economy requires close cooperation between partners representing different parts of the market. This Memorandum of Understanding demonstrates that hydrogen technologies are increasingly moving beyond concepts toward real world applications. We believe that by combining our expertise and resources, we can accelerate the deployment of zero emission transport solutions in Poland and across Europe.”
Szymon Płoński, President of the Lower Silesian Hydrogen Valley Association
H2X Global: “The hydrogen industry is entering a new phase where success will be determined not by individual technologies, but by the strength of partnerships that can deliver complete commercial solutions.
H2X has deliberately adopted an asset-light, partnership-driven strategy, working with world-class organisations that share our commitment to practical deployment. By combining hydrogen vehicle technology, specialist municipal equipment and regional project leadership, we believe we can accelerate the transition to zero-emission waste collection fleets across Europe.
Our focus is simple: move beyond concepts and place hydrogen vehicles on the road, delivering tangible environmental and economic benefits for municipalities and fleet operators.”
